Translate a PDF
Free for up to 3 pages. Larger documents require an existing, server-verified processing pass. Every request is limited to 4 MB, 12 pages, 12,000 source characters and 12 text chunks. Split larger documents first.
Your PDF text is processed on our server and sent to OpenAI for translation. Temporary uploads are deleted after the request finishes. Provider data handling is governed by OpenAI’s API policies.
What is preserved?
The downloads contain translated text and source-page boundaries. Word and text preserve Unicode characters; your viewer needs appropriate fonts. Original fonts, layout, tables, images, annotations and form fields are not reproduced. PDF output is offered only when the bundled fonts cover every character.
Scanned or blank pages
Every source page must contain selectable text. For scans, use Make PDF Searchable, review the OCR, then upload that result here. Remove blank pages with PDF Splitter. Mixed documents are stopped rather than silently skipping pages.
Review before sharing
Machine translation can misunderstand meaning, names and technical terms. Compare the result with the original, especially for important documents. Long or refused responses produce an error rather than a partial download. Cancelling stops the browser request; work already sent to the provider may still finish.
